Human Rights and Environmental Standards
We are committed to selling products that are made under legal, safe, and fair working conditions by makers who share our stakeholder philosophy of treating employees with respect. As part of our policy, we monitor factories that handle finished products, components (used in/with finished products for our customers) or packaging with the Soxcessful logo ("private" or "co-label"). If necessary, we may also audit branded suppliers. Production in a factory cannot begin until it has been inspected to ensure it meets excessive environmental and human rights standards. This is the responsibility of the Soxcessful Global Compliance Team. Periodic audits are carried out on approved factories. The purpose of these "cycle" audits is to check for continued adherence to our maker's Code of Conduct. In general, our maker's Code of Conduct includes:

BENEFITS AND WAGES

In order to meet employees' basic needs, employers recognize the importance of wages. As a matter of course, employers will pay their employees the legal minimum wage or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is greater, and ensure they have all legally mandated benefits.

COMPENSATION FOR OVERTIME

Employees will be paid for overtime hours at such a rate as is legally required in the country of manufacture or, in those countries where no such laws exist, at a rate no less than 1.5 times the usual rate for regular hours of work hourly compensation rate.

EMPLOYMENT HOURS

As a general rule, employees must not work more than 66 hours per week unless the laws of the country mandate this, plus 12 hours of overtime; and (ii) have at least one day off per week.

FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION

Employees have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining, which employers must respect.

HARASSMENT OR ABUSE

It is important that each employee is treated with dignity and respect. We prohibit any physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse for any employee.

CHILD LABOR

It is prohibited to hire individuals younger than 15 (or 14 where the law of the country of manufacture permits this) or younger than the legal age of completion of compulsory education in the country of manufacture where such an age is greater than 15 years of age.

FORCED LABOR

There will not be any use of forced labor, whether in the form of prison labor, indentured labor, bonded labor or otherwise.

NON-DISCRIMINATION

It is unacceptable to discriminate in any aspect of employment, including hiring, salary, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement, based on a person's gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, or social or ethnic origin.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The employer must provide a safe and healthy working environment to prevent accidents and injuries from occurring as a result of the operation of employer facilities or in the course of their work.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Permits and records that are legally required must be current.This information must be kept on file at all times, including copies of all permits, authorizations, laws, regulations, and standards.
